1.

Compile
the findings of this water consultation and wider
circulate it to participants and widely.

Take
the Indian experiences in Water and Sanitation related
to Sphere standards to wider national and international
forums.

| 3. |
Compile
process documents and recommendations emerging from
different Sphere sector consultations in India -Shelter
and Site Planning, Food and Nutrition and Water and
Sanitation- into one document for publication, dissemination
and action.

| 4. |
Follow
up on and realise the recommendations extended during
past two sector chapter revision consultations:i. Shelter
and Site Planning Feedback Meeting (September 18, 2002)ii.
Food and Nutrition Standards (December 16- 17, 2003).

| 5. |
Work
towards harmonizing Sphere standards with existing
government standards on water and sanitation in the
country and in different states.
|
|
| 6. |
Increased
efforts towards promoting Sphere to different stakeholders
at the community level through development of user-friendly
tools and organization of capacity building exercises.

| 7. |
Encourage
awareness and integration of standards in the work
of development authorities, in an effort to mobilise
preparedness activities for effective disaster response
and mitigation.

| 8. |
Exploratory
thinking on linking water and sanitation sector to livelihoods
to address the implications emerging from this link.

| 9. |
Conduct
a nation wide study on implications of ongoing drought
in parts of the India on ensuring Water and Sanitation
Standards.

| 10. |
Promote
intersection of water and sanitation standards with
health at the local, national and global level.
